Medigap Plan F
Is it still worth it?
Medicare Supplement Plan F offers the most comprehensive coverage, filling every gap Original Medicare leaves behind—hospital stays, doctor visits, deductibles, and coinsurance. Unfortunately, eligibility is generally limited to seniors who turned 65 before January 1, 2020.
For those eligible, Plan F covers everything: Part A and B deductibles, copays, and even excess charges. However, premiums have risen sharply since younger seniors were excluded, making Plan G a smart alternative—nearly identical coverage to Plan F but without coverage for the Part B deductible. We’re here to help you weigh your options with trust and expertise.
Here’s what Plan F offers:
- Total Coverage: All Medicare gaps—deductibles, copays, hospital, and doctor costs.
- Eligibility: Only for those 65+ before 2020—check with us if unsure.
- Rising Premiums: Costs have increased; Plan G may save you money.
- Nationwide Freedom: See any Medicare doctor—no networks, no referrals.
At Sun State Partners, we don’t recommend Plan F due to its high premiums. Your savings with the Plan G will likely be more than the Part B deductible, ultimately making it less expensive for almost identical coverage.
